About Activities
MissionPeak is built around outdoor activities — the type of activity you choose shapes what a Huddle looks like, what stats get tracked when you record, and what counts toward a Challenge.
What is an Activity Type?
An activity type is the kind of outdoor activity something on MissionPeak is centered around — for example General or Hiking. Activity types show up in a few places:
- Huddles — choosing an activity type when creating a Huddle enables type-specific features (like trail details for Hiking).
- Records — recording an activity with a specific type captures type-relevant stats.
- Challenges — some Challenge goals are tied to a specific activity type.
MissionPeak continues to add support for more activity types over time.
Why Activity Types Matter
Choosing the right activity type helps MissionPeak:
- Show you the right fields and options when creating a Huddle or recording an activity.
- Track meaningful, type-specific stats (like elevation gain for a hike).
- Match you with the right Huddles, Communities, and Challenges for the activities you care about.
See About Records for how to record an activity of a given type.
