About Google Health Connect
Connect Google Health Connect to sync fitness data between MissionPeak and your Android health hub. Connecting is optional for general app use, but required to participate in Challenges.
What is the Google Health Connect integration?
The Google Health Connect integration lets MissionPeak export your published activity records to Health Connect and import exercise sessions from other fitness apps (for example Strava or Samsung Health) into MissionPeak for Records and Challenges.
What data is used for
- Records — import workouts from other apps; export MissionPeak recorded activities after publish. See About Records.
- Challenges — progress toward a Challenge goal from Health Connect data or in-app recording. See About Challenges.
- Calorie estimates — weight and height read only when you tap Import height & weight from Google Health Connect on Edit Profile.
Data we access and why
Write (export to Health Connect)
MissionPeak writes data after you publish a recorded activity to your MissionPeak account.
| Data type | Why MissionPeak uses it |
|---|---|
| Exercise | Save MissionPeak recorded activities (hiking, running, biking, walking) after you publish them. |
| Exercise Route | Save the route track from published activity records. |
| Distance | Record distance from your MissionPeak recorded activities. |
| Steps | Record steps captured during MissionPeak activity recording. |
| Elevation Gained | Record elevation gain computed from MissionPeak recorded activities. |
| Active & Total Calories | Record estimated active and total calories for published activity records. |
Read (import from Health Connect)
| Data type | Why MissionPeak uses it |
|---|---|
| Exercise | Import exercise sessions from other fitness apps into MissionPeak. |
| Distance, Steps, Elevation, Total Calories | Fill in metrics for imported workouts when the source app did not attach totals. |
| Weight & Height | Read on Edit Profile only when you tap Import height & weight from Google Health Connect. |
| Background read | Check for new exercise sessions while MissionPeak is in the background so imported workouts sync without opening the app manually. Background read is used only when you have connected Health Connect in Settings. |
