Huddle Privacy Options
Every Huddle you create on MissionPeak has a privacy setting that controls who can see it, who can find it, and who can RSVP or participate. You choose this when creating the Huddle, and can adjust it from the Huddle's settings.
The privacy levels
Public
The Huddle will be visible to anyone on MissionPeak, including people who are not directly connected to you. It will appear in searches on the platform, and anyone can view the Huddle details, RSVP, and share it with others.
Unlisted
Anyone with the link can view the Huddle details, RSVP, and interact with the Huddle. It will not appear in MissionPeak searches or Huddle lists unless the user participates.
Connection
The Huddle will only be visible to people within your network or those you are connected to. Only your connections can view the Huddle details, RSVP, and interact with the Huddle.
Private
The Huddle will only be visible to the people you invite. Huddle details are not shared publicly or with your connections. Only invited guests can view the Huddle, RSVP, and participate.
Community
Privacy of Huddles hosted in a Community is controlled by the privacy setting of the Community. See Community Privacy Options for how Public, Protected, and Private Communities affect visibility.
Choosing the right privacy level
- Use Public to reach the widest audience and let anyone discover and join.
- Use Unlisted to share a Huddle only with people you send the link to, without it showing up in search.
- Use Connection to keep a Huddle within your existing network.
- Use Private for invite-only gatherings where you control the exact guest list.
- Use Community when the Huddle belongs to a Community and should automatically follow that Community's privacy rules.
Changing a Huddle's privacy level
- Open the Huddle.
- Go to the Huddle's settings.
- Select Privacy.
- Choose a new privacy level.
- Save your changes.
Changing privacy only affects visibility going forward — it doesn't notify existing participants or remove anyone already RSVP'd.
Privacy can only move in one direction
The four levels form a scale from least to most restrictive: Public → Unlisted → Connection → Private. Hosts can only move a Huddle to a more restrictive level, never a less restrictive one, to protect the expectations of people who already RSVP'd or were invited.
- A Public Huddle can change to Unlisted, Connection, or Private.
- An Unlisted Huddle can change to Connection or Private, but not back to Public.
- A Connection Huddle can change to Private, but not back to Unlisted or Public.
- A Private Huddle cannot change to Connection, Unlisted, or Public.
If you need a more open Huddle, create a new one at the privacy level you want — loosening an existing Huddle's privacy isn't supported.
